This Privacy Policy explains how Worldthread Games ("Worldthread Games," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our websites and games, including Define That!.

Information We Collect

When you sign in to Define That! with Google, we may receive a stable Google account identifier, your name, email address, and profile image from Google. We use this information to authenticate you and connect your activity to your account.

We also collect information you provide or create in the game, such as your username, selected avatar, friend relationships and invitations, saved games, match history, scores, wins and losses, streaks, words played, definition attempts, answer accuracy, response times, and related gameplay statistics.

We may collect gameplay telemetry needed to operate and improve the game, including game and turn IDs, game mode, opponent type, difficulty, moves, scores, definition choices, correctness, timing, and game version information. Our gameplay telemetry is not designed to store your email address, authentication credentials, or full copies of your account profile.

When you use our websites or games, our hosting and infrastructure providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, request timestamps, cookies, and diagnostic or security logs as needed to deliver, maintain, and secure the service.

If advertising is enabled on a website, advertising providers may also process browser, device, advertising, consent, and interaction information as described in the Advertising and Ad Technology section below.

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to include in your message, such as your email address, username, device information, screenshots, and details about your request.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

Information Visible to Other Players

Define That! includes social and multiplayer features. Your username, selected avatar, and limited gameplay information may be visible to other players where needed for friend search, invitations, matches, results, and similar game features. We do not make your Google email address available to other players through these features.

How We Share Information

We do not provide your Google sign-in email, username, friends list, gameplay history, definition attempts, or similar account and gameplay-profile information to advertising providers for ad targeting.

We may share or allow processing of information by service providers that help us operate the service, such as Google for sign-in and advertising services, Vercel for application hosting and delivery, Neon for database services, and email providers used to receive and forward messages. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices and as needed to provide the relevant service.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users or the service, investigate abuse or security issues, or protect the rights and safety of Worldthread Games and others.

Advertising and Ad Technology

Some Worldthread Games websites may display advertising provided by Google AdSense and other approved advertising partners. When advertising is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads, limit how often ads are shown, measure ad performance, prevent invalid traffic and abuse, and, where permitted, personalize advertising.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on a user's visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet. Other third-party advertising partners may also use cookies or similar technologies in connection with ads shown on our sites.

You can learn about and control personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. You can also learn about opt-out choices for participating third-party advertisers at YourAdChoices.

Where required, including for users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we use a consent management platform to provide information about applicable advertising partners and purposes and to collect or honor advertising consent choices before using technologies that require consent. The choices available through that message may include consenting, not consenting, or managing individual options.

Cookies and Sessions

Define That! uses a session cookie to keep you signed in and associate requests with your authenticated account. We may also use essential browser storage or similar technologies required for game state, preferences, security, and service functionality.

When advertising is enabled, Google and other approved advertising partners may use advertising cookies and similar technologies as described above. Their use depends on applicable law, account settings, and the consent choices presented to you where required.

Data Retention

We retain account, profile, gameplay, and service data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain game records, protect the integrity and security of the game, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Some limited information may be retained temporarily after a change or deletion request when needed for security, fraud prevention, username reservation, backups, or other legitimate operational purposes.

Your Choices and Requests

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your Worldthread Games account. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Removing Define That! access from your Google account does not by itself necessarily delete gameplay or profile information stored by Worldthread Games.

Advertising and consent choices may also be available through the consent message shown on the site and through the advertising preference tools linked above.

To make a privacy or account-data request, email contact@worldthreadgames.com.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us improperly, contact us and we will review the request and take appropriate action.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our games, services, advertising practices, or legal requirements change. When we make a material update, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
